Life in a New Space

It’s been 5 months since we opened the doors to you all at our sun-lit Studio space in the River Arts District. 5 months since we cleaned the walls, scraped out mud, painted the ceiling turquoise, laid out colorful rugs, and put together a TON of IKEA furniture.

In those 5 months, we have run over 250 classes and events. We have welcomed folks from all over the country, and even from across the world! We’ve celebrated birthdays, hosted networking events, and been the site of many, many playdates!

From a building that was over 10 feet underwater during Helene, then empty for over a year and a half, we are breathing new life into this space, and bringing some extra magic to the River Arts District, and that is all because of YOU.

Most of all, I am so thrilled to see this building become a safe-space for families of all types. A space where you feel welcome to enter, get cozy, try something new, and even meet new folks.

We’ve come a long way since the humble and adorable Backyard classes that started this movement. From 4 kids around a paint set at a plastic picnic table, to 15 kids self-directing their own play through 1400 square feet of studio.

Plus, we now have many amazing teachers and facilitators who breathe new life into all we do!

At the heart of Light + Love Arts, is a mission to provide a safe space to experiment and create. That looks like emphasizing the process, access to sensory experiences, and providing high quality materials. With the goal of helping build creative confidence for all.
